Been Some Week!!!

What a week or two!! You know, I wish sometimes, life could just float along, minimal disruption, but, as we all know, that just isn't possible!
It started with a simple broken tooth, ended up with surgical extractions, dry socket and a nasty infection to boot!!
Again, I met an totally unexpected. I had to go to Docs, then chemist (pharmacy to you USA ladies), anyway, I left there, into another shop killing time awaiting a taxi to go to the dentist, I was in horrible pain, and all my focus was on the dentists chair!! The fear of making the pain worse...if it could actually be any worse, anyway, I'm attempting to pack my stuff into the rucksac on the back of my chair, not an easy task, I'll tell ye! Yhis lady appeared, helped me to pack, then, put a christmas cactus into the bag at the top!!!
Turned out she worked in the chemist, had heard what a rotten time I've had recently, just wanted to make me feel better. THERE ARE SOME AMAZING PEOPLE OUT THERE!!!
Again, I had tears in my eyes, I just cannot believe the number of genuine folk I've met recently, ladies who, genuinely want to help someone, folks I've never known!!
If you ever doubt the kindness, or caring side of human nature, remember this, and my previous blogs, there ARE those folk out there, just a pitty, they are now the minority, or, a closet majority anyways. Too many times, we hear stories about folks needing first aid, or help from an attacker, we hear that others stood back, turned away and fled, scared incase they get sued or charged by interviening!! I do think, however, that the genuine folks are comin out their closets a wee bitty more nowadays, trying to allow good things to happen, tryin to better the world.
Well, Hamish is ok, his knee is still slightly troublesome, I'm giving it one more week of gentle walking, if not better, he'll need to be booked into Vets for X-Rays !!! But, we'll look on the bright side, and hope he comes good and doesn't need them!
Christmas is a commin!! I'm stayin here christmas day, then, on Boxing day, heading to parents house, (providing I get my new wheelchair by then, as, we cannot get this one into the house without a horriffic struggle!!) My sister will be there, with her partner, and my NEW NEICE!!!! YIPEEEEEE
She will be 8 months old, I've missed so much of her growin up, as no one wanted to bring her into the hospital, or the old folks home, understandable tho!! Times like this, I wish I didn't have the chair, I could have driven over to see them as often as possible, I could have babysat....blah blah!!
I'm not a huge kiddie person, but I'm proud as punch of my wee Erin, she is goin to be a beautiful little girl, she has such kind and loving eyes, and is a reall barrel of fun!! I'm looking forward to spoiling her....heehee. We have a saying..."Yer at yer Aunties!!!", basically means, I can spoil her, give her treats ect...all because she is at her aunties!!
So I'm looking forward to Boxing day, this will be the first xmas day, I've spent alone, last year was in the hospital, but got to mum and dads for a few hours, but the dog will be here, he has his stocking to open too!!!
New year, well, I'm not entirely sure yet, an uncle of mine is supposed to be bringing my young cousins up to Scotland so they can experience the guid ole Scottish New Year!! they'll stay at my parents house, so I will possibly be doon there around the 29th, but think I'll end up back here for the 31st! We'll wait and see.What plans has everyone else for Christmas and New Year? I hope you all enjoy whatever you do at this time, I know some of you may not celebrate it, so, my best regards on that day to you ladies too.
Well, the winter is certainly apon us noo! Waking up to frost outside in the mornings, it is stil pitch black at 0800hrs, and again at 1600hrs!! The dark cold nights are drawing in, I'm frantically trying to get the best possible deal on this new wheelchair, I've decided, I'l buy the chair it'self now, so I can get out on the snow / ice, and to my parents for Christmas, then, in January, once I save up more funds, I'll get the powered adaption then, it is like a 5th wheel, it clips on under the chair via a docking point, cane be pedaled by hand with 7 gears, or driven by a 36V motor. So that should get me out of trouble, I've aleady been stuck in the middle of a field in my current chair, not a nice experience!!!! I'm even thinkin of buyin it from the USA, it is actually around £300 = $600 CHEAPER over there.... Talk aboot rip aff Britian eh??? So have all my American mates tryin to see what price they can find in their local medi stores, unlike Scotland, the Americans have medical goods shops in all big toons and cities!! We are lucky if we have one within a 50 mile radius here!!! I'll kep you all updated as to how we get on with it!! Pity I can't get the complete chair now, but, finances just wont stretch that far, however, best things come to those who wait!!! I could always try strappin a set of ski's onto the wheel, and a harness on the dog, and sled it thru the streets!! I live half way up an increadible steep hill, so goin away from the hoose will be ok, but, nae chance getting back up again!! HeeHee!!!!
Well, time to go once mair, I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving, those who celebrate it that is, hey, another great American thing, to those who don't know, is, the day after Thanksgiving, they have Black Friday!! Apparently the shops open at 0600hrs in the morning, close at 2200hrs at night!! Prices are crazy, folks queueing all night to get into a shopping centre, or a particular shop!! What do we get, hi prices, and open late on Thursadys till 2000hrs!!!! with nowhere to park near the shops you need!!
Well, I hope you all are well, fightin fit, and ready to get those party shoes on, suits pressed, kilts pressed and happy to face the Christmas party season!!
